Owls, Frogmouths and Owlet Nightjars

Although the three groups may (or may )not be that closely related, I have lumped these all into the same post because they are quite similar in appearance and behaviour.

I have only a few owls than I would expect but have seen 2/3 Australian Frogmouths and the only Australian Owlet Nightjar. The Owlet Nightjar is one of my favourite birds has it looks so cute, they are said to mimic squirel gliders which are also nocturnal and live in tree hollows.

White Butterflies - Pieridae

White butterflies aren't actually all white. You do get time in many different colours, but mainly feature white, yellow, black and red. There are a lot of species that are very similar and very hard to tell apart. They are also quite difficult to photograph as they don't stop much. (That's why so many of my photos are in flight and blurry)

I have very few good photos of fish in the wild. I've only done snorkelling a few times and never with a decent camera. The better photos I have here are all taken from land or in Rockpools.

This is a very large family of butterflies. Its a lump of several previously established butterfly familys including the Browns (Satyridae), Milkweeds (Danaidae), Fritiliaries, Morphos and Nymphs (Nymaplidae).

Metalmarks

I've only seen 2 species of metal marks. Tried to find the sole English species, the Duke of Burgundy, several times but keep dipping. They are primarily a South American family but found in smaller numbers elsewhere.
